Pass Christian has enjoyed a long and rich Mardi
Gras history. From 1914-1922 annual parades were held in the Pass.
The St. Paul Carnival Association history is just as colorful. The
Association began in 1930 as a fund-raiser for the benefit St.
Joseph School and the Sisters of Mercy who taught there. The fund
raising activities continued for St. Paul Catholic School (presently
called St Vincent de Paul). Activities include great food and
entertainment as well as Spirit Parties, Draw Downs, and Golf
Tournaments. The Pass Parade is the biggest and best on the Coast
and draws thousands of revelers to every year. The
Carnival Association has withstood storms, historical events and
many changes but still endures.
